Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. announced that portion of the proceeds of the Tigtigan Terakan Keng Dalan 2024 will be donated to the Bicol region, which was severely affected by the tropical storm Kristine.
Lazatin revealed this during the opening ceremony of the TTKD.
The mayor said he already had a conversation with JCI Culiat Foundation Chairperson Jean McTavish for the initiative.
“Nag-usap na po kami ng JCI, sa pangunguna po ng aking Ate Jean, na portion po ng proceeds ng TTKD ay mapupunta sa ating mga kababayan sa Bicol, na nasalanta ng bagyong Kristine,” he shared.
Lazatin joined the TTKD opening parade, walking along the streets of Balibago stretch with First District Representative Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II, City Councilors, Chief Adviser IC Calaguas, Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, members of the Gender and Development Office headed by Mina Cabiles, Angeles City Tourism Head Anneleen Antonio-Sugui, Angeles City Economic Development Investment and Promotions Office Head Irish Bonus-Llego, and the JCI Culiat officers and personnel.

“To kickstart these relief efforts, I will be donating P100,000 worth of diapers and canned goods.”

To recall, the Angeles city government also sent aid to Bicol in 2020 for the victims of Typhoon Rolly.
