The Angeles City government, under the leadership of Mayor Carmelo ‘Pogi’ Lazatin Jr., will soon introduce an organic liquid fertilizer, which will be given for free to farmers and residents.
This is an innovation that uses black soldier fly technology and fermentation, pioneered by the late City Engineer Donato Dizon, who was the focal person in the city government’s plan to reduce organic waste.

Lazatin is planning to launch the liquid form of organic fertilizer as it offers several benefits over traditional granular fertilizers.
The organic liquid fertilizer improves nutrient absorption for plants, increases soil fertility, and reduces environmental impact.
The Department of Agriculture Region III has already released the test results of the said liquid form of fertilizer and passed the acidity level for foliar fertilizer.
“Naging katuwang po natin sa proyektong ito ang namayapang si Engr. Dizon na kung saan ang hangarin po ng siyudad ay ang mabawasan po ang organic waste natin.”

In fact, some local government units, national agencies, and business establishments coming from Pangasinan, Baguio City, Davao, Metro Manila, and Tarlac already visited the Central Composting Facility to benchmark the black soldier fly technology initiative of the city government.
Offices from the city government and some nearby business establishments in the City Hall turned over their biodegradable waste at the Central Composting Facility to show their support for the said project.
Meanwhile, Lazatin said that the Central Composting Facility is open for everyone who wants to turn over their biodegradable waste and help the city in this project.
“Dalhin lamang po dito sa Central Composting Facility ang inyong mga nabubulok na basura para magtuloy-tuloy po ang proyektong ito,” he said.
