According to reports, more than 50 passengers were on board bus No. 6289 from Iloilo City to Culasi town in Antique when the vehicle’s brake system allegedly malfunctioned at around 4:30 pm, causing the bus to fall into a ravine.
Injured passengers were then admitted to the Angel Salazar Memorial General Hospital (ASMGH) in San Jose de Buenavista, Antique as well as the Western Visayas Medical Center (WVMC) and Iloilo Mission Hospital.
Reyes also thanked Antique leader and former Valderrama town mayor Ray Roquero for his efforts to coordinate AnaKalusugan’s aid.
Sana dumami pa ang mga kagaya niya na hands-on leaders,” he said.
Meanwhile, Reyes appealed to motorists to exercise extra caution when driving during the holiday season.
