FIVE MORE E-JEEPNEYS ROLL OUT IN BACOLOD CITY

Following the successful launch of the first five electric jeepneys last October 2024, Cebu People’s Multi-Purpose Cooperative (CPMPC) has now launched an additional five units, bringing the total number of Bacolod City electric jeepneys in operation to 10. 

The CPMPC said the blessing of these units and also of their Bacolod satellite office is “furthering our commitment to sustainable transport”.

The turnover ceremony was attended by Mayor Albee Benitez, who expressed strong support for the initiative and highlighted plans for expanding charging stations throughout the city.

“We are on track to making sure there would be more charging stations all over the city to make it easier for our e-vehicles users,” Benitez stressed.

“This marks a significant milestone in Bacolod’s journey toward a greener, more sustainable future for all.”

The vehicles will serve the route from Fortune Towne, via SM, to the Central Market Loop.

“We aim to complete the 60 franchises.”

“For now, we have the Fortune Towne-Central Market route. We’re working out the arrangements for other routes,” Abella added.
