Quirino Governor Dax Cua has emphasized the need to put in place the necessary infrastructure to support the province’s push to become a prime eco-tourism destination.
“We are blessed with many natural wonders that allow us to position ourselves as an excellent destination for eco-tourism. But we have to continue putting in place the necessary infrastructure that could help us capitalize on our advantages,” Cua said.
The governor vowed to continue improving health facilities to make them capable of delivering quality health services not only to Quirinians but also to tourists.
Quirino boasts of various natural tourist spots such as forests, waterfalls, caves and rock formations, which include the Nagbukel Municipal Tree Park, Landingan Viewpoint, which is managed by the Bugkalot indigenous group, Aglipay Caves, and Manuela Falls, among others.
He also said that his administration would prioritize ensuring there are safe roads to tourist destinations, accessible transportation, facilities such as clean restrooms and waste disposal, among others.
“Most importantly, we have to implement mechanisms that would safeguard the integrity of our eco-tourist spots, making sure that these are properly conserved and protected even as we get to enjoy them,” Cua added.

“We will also continue to provide assistance in the form of training and finance especially to our local communities so that they could directly benefit from the economic gains brought about by our eco-tourism push,” the re-electionist also said.
Cua is gunning for his third and last term as governor.
