LACSON: TAKE PRECAUTIONS VS HOT WEATHER

With the heat index continuing to rise in recent days, former Senator Ping Lacson hopes the public will take the proper precautions – including supporters who go to candidates’ rallies to show their support.

Lacson pointed out that the hot weather has prompted many local government units to suspend classes, and may pose health dangers to the general public.

“The hot weather may pose health dangers to the general public.”

“I hope that it’s not just us candidates but also those joining us at our rallies who will make sure their health is not affected by the heat,” he said in Filipino, in an interview on Bombo Radyo Philippines.

Lacson and fellow candidates of the Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas attended a rally in Camarines Sur recently. Their supporters were also there at the rally.

In past weeks, several areas in the country have experienced high heat index, with many local government units suspending face-to-face classes.

The Department of Health has recommended that people drink plenty of water, avoid certain beverages including alcoholic ones, limit outdoor activities between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., use sun protection, and wear loose and lightweight clothing.
