DPWH STARTS MISAMIS OCCIDENTAL ROAD REHAB

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will be paving the muddy access road in Barangay San Isidro Bajo, Sinacaban, Misamis Occidental.

In a report submitted by DPWH Region 10 Director Lilibeth Aparecio to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, she said the ₱94.56-million project is aimed at linking rural areas to strategic public facilities.

The scope of works involves the concreting of a previously muddy road with a length of 8.6 lane kilometers into a two-lane concrete road to improve access for farmers and other daily road users.

“Paving the road and making it more accessible was necessary to ensure the safety of traveling motorists and pedestrians, regardless of the weather condition.”

The ongoing project is currently 98 percent accomplished and is expected to boost agricultural productivity and improve mobility.

Implemented by DPWH Misamis Occidental 2nd District Engineering Office, funding for the project was sourced from the 2024 General Appropriations Act (GAA).
