Over 2,000 attendees jam-packed the Capitol Gymnasium for Sarangani’s first Moro Assembly recently.
Anchored on the theme, “Unity Promotes Lasting Peace and Sustainable Development,” the assembly demonstrated a commitment to peace and progress.
It was also held to advocate anti-illegal drugs in Sarangani.
“Illegal drug is a plague that destroys lives, breaks families, and weakens the moral foundation of our communities.”
Governor Rogelio Pacquiao highlighted the assembly’s goal of intensifying the anti-illegal drug campaign, calling it “a plague that destroys lives, breaks families, and weakens the moral foundation of our communities.”
“We are focusing community empowerment programs on prevention, rehabilitation, and reintegration to support the victims and recovery efforts.”
Pacquiao stressed the importance of continued collaboration, emphasizing community empowerment programs focused on “prevention, rehabilitation, and reintegration” to support the victims and recovery efforts.
The governor said that through the Ronda Probinsya Kalinaw and RP Sarangani Moro Affairs Program, the Provincial Local Government Unit actively supports initiatives promoting peacebuilding, cultural preservation, and socio-economic development within Sarangani’s Moro communities.
Sarangani United Bangsamoro Justice Party Provincial Executive Officer DM Tommy Nawa said the assembly also sought the provincial leaders’ support for the creation of ordinances institutionalizing programs like Madaris and securing representation from the Bangsamoro in the legislative body.
