The Department of Tourism (DOT) and the Tourism Promotions Board Philippines proudly announced the appointment of renowned South Korean actor and singer, Seo In Guk, as the Philippines’ Celebrity Tourism Ambassador for Korea.
The announcement was made during a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony held at the DOT office recently.
“We are very honored to be in the presence of a man who is beloved worldwide for his vast talent endless creativity and now, his evident love for the Philippines,” Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco said.
“South Korea has long been the top source market for the Philippines, and the Philippines is home to a thriving Korean community.”

The partnership aims to enhance the already thriving cultural and tourism connections between the Philippines and South Korea, which currently ranks as the top source of international visitors to the Philippines.
The tourism chief emphasized that Seo In Guk’s designation would deepen the bond between Filipinos and Koreans, allowing more South Koreans to discover iconic destinations such as the pristine shores of Boracay, the waves of Siargao, the dive sites of Cebu, and the lush landscapes of Bukidnon.

Seo In Guk, a beloved figure in the Korean entertainment industry with an expansive global fanbase, is celebrated for his impressive performances in hit dramas such as Reply 1997, Doom at Your Service, and Shopping King Louie.

The collaboration between Seo in Guk and the DOT aims to elevate the Philippines’ profile as a premier travel destination among Korean tourists.
As part of this collaboration, Seo In Guk will engage in various promotional activities in both countries, showcasing iconic destinations like Boracay, Cebu, and Manila.
His role will focus on highlighting the Philippines’ breathtaking natural beauty, rich cultural heritage, and renowned hospitality through diverse media channels and official tourism campaigns.
