The Provincial Government of Samar, under the leadership of Governor Sharee Ann Tan, proudly launched the Samar Center for Developmental Pediatrics (CDP) recently at the Spark Samar Development Hub (in front of Metro Supermarket), Arteche Boulevard, Catbalogan City.
The CDP is a pioneering initiative dedicated to providing essential services to children with special needs. The center will offer Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, and Physical Therapy, addressing the growing demand for specialized developmental care in the province.
Governor Sharee Ann Tan emphasized that this initiative is a significant step towards human capital development, ensuring that every child, regardless of their challenges, receives the support they deserve.

The center will not only provide therapy services but will also play a crucial role in parent and teacher education to better equip families and educators with the knowledge and skills needed to support children with special needs effectively.
Mr. Ralph Tizon, the center’s head, highlighted the center’s commitment to delivering quality care and specialized support.

Dr. Jansenn Mutya, Chief of Hospital of Samar Provincial Hospital, emphasized the center’s role under the hospital’s supervision.
“The Samar Center for Developmental Pediatrics operates under the direct supervision of the Samar Provincial Hospital, ensuring that the highest standards of medical and therapeutic care are provided to children in need. This initiative strengthens our commitment to comprehensive healthcare and enhances accessibility to essential developmental services in the province,” Mutya stressed.
