The Department of Transportation (DOTr) and city government of Muntinlupa broke ground the city’s first road safety park and end-of-trip facilities for the benefit of active transport enthusiasts.
As part of the DOTr’s active and public transport infrastructure expansion, the agency and Muntinlupa City will construct a 3,140 sqm road safety park, consisting of road networks, bike lane classes, public transport stops, road signage park, and footbridge.
On the other hand, the end-of-trip facilities include bike parking with sheds, six units of bike racks and a bike repair station.
The construction of infrastructure is aimed at increasing public awareness and safety among road users, especially pedestrians and cyclists.
The parking sheds are strategically located at the city’s public schools, heath centers, and other public spaces to provide safe parking space for cyclists and other active transport users. The construction of infrastructure is aimed at increasing public awareness and safety among road users, especially pedestrians and cyclists.

“When we invest in walkable cities and safe and hassle-free roads for cyclists, we deliver a cleaner, safer, more equitable and sustainable future mobility paradigm.”
