SAMAR SCHOOLS GET SMART TV SETS FOR LEARNING

As part of its corporate social responsibility efforts, Vena Energy, through its subsidiary Gemini Wind Energy Corp., donated 16 smart TV sets to elementary and secondary schools in Calbayog City at the Tandaya Hall, Capitol Compound, Catbalogan City.

“When our partners contacted us about their CSR plans, we proposed donating smart televisions to schools so that the Samarnons could truly experience how the corporation gives back to communities,” Samar Governor Sharee Ann Tan said in her message.

“In schools where we’ve previously donated Smart TVs, reports indicate that students became more engaged and showed improved learning outcomes.”

Meanwhile, 1st District Representative Stephen James Tan also shared his thoughts on the windmill project planned for Calbayog City:

“It is an honor that investors have chosen the Province of Samar, especially since the project will help reduce carbon footprints. We also hope that the operations of this project will eventually expand to the entire Samar Island,” the legislator said.

Meanwhile, Mia Jarumayan, General Manager of Gemini Energy Corp., shared her gratitude to the provincial government.

Also present in the turnover ceremony were Calbayog City Mayor Raymund “Monmon” Uy who promised a seamless collaboration with the schools, and the Vena Energy in the implementation of the program, and Department of Education Calbayog Schools Division Superintendent Margarito Cadayona, Jr. who expressed his gratitude on the transformative impact of the donations.

The 16 schools that received the television sets are:

• Bayo Elementary School
• Bugtong Elementary School
• Cag-anibong Elementary School
• Caglanipao Elementary School
• Camanipis Norte Elementary School
• Cagmanipis Sur Elementary School
• Danao II Elementary School
• Dawo Integrated School
• Malaga Central School
• Malaga National High School
• Manuel Barral Elementary School
• Pilar Elementary School
• Pilar National Agricultural High School
• San Joaquin Central School
• San Joaquin National High School

This 2025, Vena Energy is set to construct a P19B wind farm at the borders of Samar and Northern Samar, where 26 windmills will be installed in Calbayog City.
