FILIPINO CORE: A COLLECTION OF FUNNY MOMENTS IN PINOY TV

Much has been said about the Pinoy TV experience. We can’t help it, we are a passionate nation and we take things to heart when it comes to our viewing habits. If we weren’t, Princess Punzalan who played Selena Montecillo in Mula sa Puso wouldn’t have to take all the Much that has been said about the Philippine television experience. We can’t help it; we are a passionate nation, and we take our viewing habits to heart. If we weren’t so invested, Princess Punzalan, who played Selena Montecillo in “Mula sa Puso,” wouldn’t have had to dodge countless “payong hits” from grandmothers while strolling in the mall. Similarly, Kardo from “Ang Probinsyano” wouldn’t have to evade numerous bullets and still come out alive after seven years and 2,000 episodes. That’s Philippine TV for you!

However, there’s so much more to unpack in each local show. Even during action-packed scenes or drama-filled moments, we often spot blunders that make us wonder if they were intentional—perhaps aiming for virality—or if they were simply continuity errors. Check out this list and let us know which of these mistakes you’ve noticed when they aired

We get it, Lovemarie, your phone must’ve been constantly on fire because of your sleek fashion updates. But we just couldn’t help but laugh at the unintended cameo of your iPhone during the recap scene of the Mulawin vs. Ravena episode on May 23, 2017. Yes, we can still remember how this one went viral on Twitter.

Even professional reporters are not immune to bloopers. Exhibit A: Bernadette Sembrano, during a TV Patrol episode on May 2, 2015, where she was caught moments before successfully throwing a piece of tissue paper. Watch the video here.

KAREN DAVILA, HULI PERO DI KULONG!

And it seems like TV Patrol collects bloopers and funny moments even during live broadcasts. Case in point, Karen Davila, when she accidentally ran behind Kabayan Noli de Castro while rolling live on October 28, 2024. Just moments after the awkward moment, both TV Patrol and Karen Davila trended. You may watch Kabayan’s next-day report about the trending scene here.

THE POSSESSION OF JANE ON LIVE TV

Another one that trended in 2022 is the live possession of a woman during an interview with Julius and Tintin. In the video, while recounting the possession she experienced, she suddenly looked like she was being possessed. The video, however, drew some laughs because of the faces the woman was making. Watch this video clip to understand why it went viral. P.S. Try not to laugh.

 LIZA SOBERANO’S MISSED *VIDEO* CALL

Another scene that went viral is this call between actress Liza Soberano and Katya Santos in ABS-CBN’s prime-time series ‘Make It With You’. In the 32 scene, Katya was holding her phone seemingly engaged in a video call, while Liza was holding the phone on her ear, suggesting it was just a regular call. Perhaps Katya, was on a loudspeaker?

RYZA CENON’S NERF GUN LEGEND

Perhaps the most popular in this list is this fight scene between Ryza Cenon and Sunshine Dizon’s characters in the show ‘Ika-6 Na Utos,’ where the former pulled a Nerf gun and aimed at Dizon’s character. Nope, this was not a mistake. It did air with all the glory of the legendary Nerf gun. Now, this scene, this picture, and the entire hullabaloo around it will forever be embedded in the history of Pinoy pop culture.

BAGANI’s TIME-TRAVELING BRANDED SLIPPERS

Call it a time slip! One particular scene in another of Liza Soberano’s primetime shows, Bagani, features one of the men wearing branded Nike slippers. Yes, the slipper slip-up made it to the actual airing. HYPE BEAST BAGANI!

THE QUEEN HIT THE STAGE

To end this list, we’re leaving you with this classic featuring the Queen of All Media, Kris Aquino, where she fell on the stage of the GMA Supershow while promoting her new movie with Rene Requiestas, ‘Pido Dida.’
