The Department of Education (DepEd) expressed its gratitude and appreciation for President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive to provide the P20,000 Service Recognition Incentive (SRI) for public school teachers and non-teaching personnel.
Education Secretary Sonny Angara thanked the President for increasing the SRI from P18,000 to P20,000, benefitting an estimated 1,011,800 DepEd personnel.

“We thank President Marcos Jr. for his unparalleled dedication to uplifting the welfare of our teachers and personnel. His genuine concern for education and his heart for our teacher have once again prioritized the needs of those shaping the future of our nation,” Angara said.
The education chief also affirmed his commitment to work closely with Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Amenah Pangandaman to ensure the swift and successful implementation of the increased SRI while adhering to fiscal policies.
Pangandaman and the DBM will look into the necessary funding mechanisms to finalize the implementation process and release of funds of the SRI.

Following the marching order of the President, the SRI increase is another step of the Sec. Angara’s leadership team to take care of the well-being of teachers.
