As Typhoon Marce exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) is mobilizing resources and assets to respond to the destruction and impact left in communities up north, particularly in Cagayan.
PRC trucks, loaded with sleeping kits and essential relief items, went to Cagayan for immediate distribution.
Teams of dedicated staff and volunteers are on the ground to assess the situation and recommend much-needed assistance.
“I would like to remind everyone to stay prepared and vigilant, especially as more typhoons are expected before the year ends,” PRC Chairman Dick Gordon said.
“It is crucial that our disaster response evolves.”
“For the Red Cross, with climate change making typhoons increasingly unpredictable and severe, it is crucial that our disaster response evolves. We are adopting a more proactive approach, strengthening our efforts to mitigate and respond to these new challenges,” Gordon stressed.
“A heartfelt thank you to our donors, staff, and volunteers for your relentless support and hard work. Together, we uphold the spirit of bayanihan,” Secretary General Dr. Gwen Pang added.
