PIMENTEL BACKS REOPENING PROBE LINKED TO WAR ON DRUGS

Senate Minority Leader Koko Pimentel III threw his support behind proposals to reopen the investigation into the unresolved killings linked to the Duterte administration’s brutal and bloody war on drugs.

“We need to charge those guilty of the crimes, but we also need to know who were negligent and incompetent during the investigation of these crimes,” Pimentel said.

“We must bring the criminals to justice, while those who are incompetent in solving or even investigating these crimes must be removed from the service.”

“Kailangan ay managot ang kriminal, murderer at mastermind at gayundin ang mga natulog sa pansitan,” the veteran legislator stressed.

“We must bring the criminals to justice, while those who are incompetent in solving or even investigating these crimes must be removed from the service,” the veteran lawmaker added.

The former Senate President said there must be accountability under the law, saying it is critical in restoring the faith and confidence of the Filipino people in our justice system.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) earlier announced plans to revisit several cold cases involving local officials who were targeted at the height of the controversial drug war. Malacañang said it supports the move.
