NUEVA VIZCAYA-MT. PROVINCE ROAD SECTION GETS REHAB

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is currently undertaking a preventive road maintenance project aimed at ensuring road connectivity and supporting the local agricultural sector in Bontoc, Mountain Province.

The project implemented by the DPWH Cordillera Administrative Region covers the road repair and upgrading of intermittent section along Mt. Province-Nueva Vizcaya Road.

In his report to DPWH Secretary Manuel Bonoan, DPWH-CAR Director Khadaffy Tanggol highlighted that preventive maintenance work which is presently more than 68 percent completed, include selective reblocking of Portland cement concrete pavement (PCCP), application of slurry surface treatment, and application of thermoplastic pavement markings.

The installation of raised studs, and tapered solar lamp posts were also part of the project as road safety features.

The P144.69-million preventive maintenance project, funded under 2024 General Appropriations Act (GAA), is expected to be fully completed by January 2025.
