NEW BRIDGE IN ZAMBO DEL NORTE TOWN TO AID FARMERS

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) constructed a concrete bridge to enhance accessibility for local farmers and traders in the municipality of Sergio Osmeña, Zamboanga del Norte.

According to DPWH Region 9 Director Cayamombao Dia, the 359-meter, two-lane bridge now connects Barangay San Juan and Barangay Mabuhay, providing a safer and more efficient route for trucks and heavy vehicles transporting agricultural products to market centers.

Built along the Barangay Dampalan – Lamaya Road, the bridge will not only improve the movement of goods and services but also cut travel time which will significantly lower hauling costs and increase the income of local farmers.

“With the completion of this bridge, we are empowering our rubber and coconut industries which will help foster development in the municipality and its neighboring communities.”
