DPWH FINISHES ALBAY COASTAL ROAD PROJECT

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed another component of Bicol’s scenic Buhatan-Alimsog Road, extending it along the coast of Barangay Alimsog, Sto. Domingo, Albay.

DPWH Regional 5 Director Virgilio Eduarte, in his report to DPWH Secretary Manuel Bonoan, said that additional 560 meters of 4-lane concrete road with 100-meter seawall under the coastal road project’s phase 2 was recently completed by the DPWH Albay 1st District Engineering Office.

“The project extends the existing pathway, offering better and safer access for the residents of the once isolated Barangay Alimsog,” Eduarte explained.

“The road is also frequented by visitors as it offers a panoramic ocean view and the renowned Mt. Mayon.”

The Buhatan-Alimsog Road Phase 2 was carried out by DPWH Albay 1st DEO from April 2023 to April 2024 in the amount of P91.68 million.
