At Monday’s flag-raising ceremony of the House of Representatives, guest speaker South Cotabato Representative Peter Miguel emphasized the crucial role of the government in safeguarding the nation’s maritime resources.
Miguel expounded on the theme, “Pamana ng Karagatan: Ating Alagaan para sa Kinabukasan,” stressing the need for collective action in preserving the Philippines’ maritime heritage for future generations.
The legislator also addressed the external challenges the nation faces, particularly in asserting its claims over the West Philippine Sea.
“I am calling for resilience and unity among Filipinos in the face of ongoing territorial disputes.”
