MANILA IS DTI’S 2ND MOST COMPETITIVE CITY IN PH

The City of Manila has once again proven its excellence, bagging multiple awards at the 2024 Department of Trade and Industry’s Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI) awarding ceremony recently. 

Manila Vice-Mayor Yul Servo Nieto and Project Development Officer Aimee Sarmiento proudly received the awards on behalf of the city.

Under the Highly Urbanized Cities category, Manila claimed the following accolades:

•      Most Competitive: 2nd Place

•      Government Efficiency: 2nd Place

•      Intellectual Property Rights: 2nd Place

•      Economic Dynamism: 3rd Place

•      Infrastructure: 4th Place

•      Innovation: 4th Place

•      Resiliency: 6th Place

“Out of the 33 Highly Urbanized Cities, Manila has proudly secured its position as the 2nd Most Competitive City in the entire country. This achievement reflects the relentless efforts and unwavering commitment of our city towards progress,” Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna said.

“This marks a significant shift in how we manage our local government, serving as a tribute to the hard work and dedication of our public servants, community leaders, and every Manileño who has played a role in our progress.”

The mayor-doctor further added, “Patunay ang mga parangal na ‘to na patuloy na nagsusumikap ang Pamahalaang Lungsod ng Maynila para lalo pang mapabilis at mapabuti ang paghahatid natin ng serbisyo-publiko diretso sa tao.”
