Eighty-five couples exchanged their “I Dos” in Davao de Oro’s ‘Kasalan ng Bayan 2024: The GWorks Way!’
The event was organized by Governor Dorothy Gonzaga with Judge Cresenciana DC. Cruz administering the mass wedding and serving as solemnizing officer.
“Ang kasal ay isang sersoyo at pormal na kaganapan… sana po ay hindi masira, sana nga permanente ang inyong magiging kasal,” Cruz told the newlyweds.
She also highlighted this effort of the provincial government as a demonstration of the love that the government has shared with its people. She urged the community, especially parents, godparents, and sponsors, to accept them with love and concern.

Gonzaga thanked Cruz, and personnel from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), Public Attorney’s Office (PAO), Local Civil Registrar (LCR), capitol employees, and all the people behind the success of the event as they collaborated to support the couples.
The lady governor stressed that marriage and choosing the partner that they have is the best decision they have to make in their life.
“Congratulations to all of you for making the best decision today and sa tanan ninyung paningkamot, ania mi sa gobyerno mu-guide ninyu nga ang ang inyung kaminyuon magmalahutayon ug magmalipayon. Best Wishes,” she said.
Gonzaga concluded her speech by emphasizing that a family is a basic unit of society.

Each newlywed brought home a cake, a bottle of wine with wine glass, food packs, and hygiene kits from DSWD while some got provisions of housewares in a raffle draw.
