LEYTE RESIDENTS BENEFIT FROM ‘LAB FOR ALL’ CARAVAN

The Department of Health (DOH), in support to the LAB for ALL Caravan led by First Lady Liza Marcos, continued to provide accessible laboratory services, free consultation with specialists, and free medication to the public in Tacloban City, Leyte recently.

Throughout the three-day government service caravan, the DOH was able to provide a total of 11,788 much-needed health care services to more than 5000 individuals in the following designated venues: People’s Center, Eastern Visayas State University Gym, Marasbaras National High School Gym, Remedios Trinidad Romualdez Gym, and Tacloban City National High School Gym. 

Throughout the three-day government service caravan, the DOH was able to provide a total of 11,788 much-needed health care services to more than 5000 individuals.

“We are grateful to the First Lady as this is aligned with the DOH’s mission to guarantee all Filipinos access to quality health care services,” Health Secretary Ted Herbosa said.

Together with the Tacloban City Health Office and Eastern Visayas Medical Center, the DOH Eastern Visayas Center for Health Development, the team delivered various medical services, namely: Medical Consultations (Internal Medicine, Surgery, Ear, Nose, and Throat, Ophthalmology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, and Family Medicine), Laboratory and Other Diagnostic Services (ultrasound, blood chemistry, CBC, urinalysis, CT scan, and X-ray, etc.), Dental Services, Vaccination, Medicine Provision, and Vision Screening with Prescription Lenses Provision. 

“We are also thankful to the over 200 volunteers who dedicated their time to ensure the successful provision of medical and ancillary services.”

Also gracing the event were Tingog Party-list Representatives Yedda Marie Romualdez and Jude Acidre, Navotas Representative Toby Tiangco, Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Chairperson Prospero De Vera III, Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Director General Samuel Zacate, Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) Chief Attorney Persida Acosta, DOH Center for Health Development Eastern Visayas (DOH-EVCHD) Regional Director Dr. Exuperia Sabalberino, OIC-Assistant Regional Director Dr. Jean Marie Egargo, and representatives from other national government agencies.
