Some 4,170 employees from the Angeles City government received their own shoes as a personal gift from Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr.
“This will serve as the employees’ incentive for their hard work and dedication in performing their jobs and fulfilling their duties,” Lazatin said.
The said shoes were distributed personally by the mayor.
Association of Government Employees for a New Dynamic Angeles City (AGENDA) President Flordeliza Santos expressed her utmost gratitude to Lazatin for the free shoes for all city hall employees.
“His thoughtfulness for us employees is more than what we expected.”
“On behalf of all the employees of Angeles City Hall, we would like to thank Mayor Pogi Lazatin for yet another surprise for us. His thoughtfulness for us employees is more than what we expected,” Santos said.
“Bukod po sa mga benepisyo na ibinibigay niya ay naalala pa po nya kaming bigyan ng bagong sapatos. Hindi po nya nakakalimutan ipakita ang kanyang pagmamahal at appreciation sa mga kawani sa kanilang mga contributions sa pagpapatupad ng kanyang mga programa para sa mga kapwa Angeleños,” she added.
Santos then vowed on behalf of all the city hall employees that they will continue to provide efficient public service for Angeleños.
“Kaya maasahan po niya na lalo pa po namin sisipagan at pagbubutihan ang aming mga trabaho,” she stressed.
Santos also thanked Chief Adviser IC Calaguas and Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel for their support to all city hall employees.
“Nais din po namin pasalamatan ang ating Chief Tactician na si IC Calaguas at ang ating Executive Assistant na si Reina Manuel, lagi po silang kaagapay ni Mayor Lazatin sa pagpapahalaga at pangangalaga sa aming mga empleyado. Muli po, maraming salamat Mayor Pogi Lazatin! Mabuhay po kayo,” she said.
Meanwhile, concurrent Officer-in-Charge of Angeles City Traffic Development Office and Environmental Management System, Francis Pangilinan, highlighted that these free shoes will help his traffic enforcers in doing their duties while manning the traffic in the busy roads of the city.
“Dakal pung salamat Mayor Pogi sa tuloy tuloy na paglinggap po ninyo sa kagalingan ng mga empleyado ng Lungsod ng Angeles. Tunay na nakagagalak ang inyong po maagang pamasko sa amin. Maraming salamat po. Maligayang pasko po,” Pangilinan added.
City Health Officer Dr. Verona Guevarra, on the other hand, was amazed to receive the news of the free shoes that Lazatin will give to all city hall employees.
“Hindi po kami makapaniwala talaga, first time po na ang isang empleyado na COS, casual or permanent man po, ay makakakuha ng sapatos from a mayor.”

Yung mga BPW at BHW nga po namin masaya na po sa ham na binibigay ng ating mayor tuwing pasko at ngayon may karagdagang sapatos pa po,” Guevarra said.
“Kaya lubos po kaming nagpapasalamat kay Mayor Pogi, sa sapatos na aming natanggap. Noong una po mga magagandang scrub suits po ang ibinigay sa amin ngayon naman itong sapatos. Kumpleto na po ang uniform namin nito,” she concluded.
