Young talents will get a golden opportunity to witness firsthand the spirit of the UP Fight when the University of the Philippines men’s basketball team (MBT) becomes an active participant in the inaugural offering of the Fighting Maroons Basketball School (FMBS) in the mornings of July 8-13.
FMBS is State U’s official basketball development program just launched by the UP Office for Athletics and Sports Development (OASD) which seeks to set up a stage for boys and girls ages 8-16 to showcase and then strengthen their skills in the spirit of the UP Fight.
Online registration for FMBS is now open at: https://bit.ly/3KDpv78. Confirmation emails for those who register will be sent next week.
As a way to teach as well as thrill young talents, the current Fighting Maroons will be present at the UP Community Court inside the Diliman campus on July 12.
“Siyempre, excited kaming makatulong sa OASD, while at the same time, give an assist na rin sa mga batang gustong matuto at gustong magpagaling pa sa basketball,” said MBT head coach Goldwin Monteverde.
The Fighting Maroons are presently in the middle of their training camp in Serbia to prepare for the looming UAAP Season 87 tipping off on September 7. Gerry Abadiano is their new team captain, and is still flanked by the likes of JD Cagulangan, Harold Alarcon, and Francis Lopez, as well as exciting newcomers Jacob Bayla, Gani Stevens, and Dikachi Ududo.
