The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is currently working on the 6th and final phase of the 8-storey school building project for Marikina Polytechnic College (MPC) in Barangay Sta. Elena, Marikina City.
DPWH National Capital Region Director Loreta Malaluan, in her report to DPWH Secretary Manuel Bonoan, disclosed the status of the MPC Building 3 Project Phase 6 which just commenced civil works for Phase 6 early this month.
According to Malaluan, the building project has received a total allocation of P350 million since 2021.
The DPWH Metro Manila 1st District Engineering Office (DEO), under the leadership of Aristotle Ramos, already implemented Phases 1 to 5 which covered the foundation works, structural works, and some architectural, electrical, and mechanical works, including works on covered basketball court.
“The last phase of the project, which covers remaining works on the basketball court and other finishing works on the building, is targeted for completion by December 2024.”

When completed, the 8-storey building with total floor area of 9,271 square meters, will provide MPC with additional spaces designated for classrooms, administrative offices, basketball court, events area, and other activity areas.
