Isabela Governor Rodito Albano III and Wallace Minn-Gan Chow, Head of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in the Philippines, led the distribution of sacks of rice to 2,386 Tricycle Operators Drivers Association (TODA) members, 545 fisherfolks and 500 persons with disabilities (PWDs) at the Queen Isabela Park, City of Ilagan recently.
Albano introduced Chow to the Isabeleños and thanked him for donating 402,000 kilograms of rice to the province.
“Mga June o July, madadagdagan pa ang bigas ninyo.”
“Kung ano ang ibinigay ng Taiwanese government, ibibigay namin sa inyo. Mga June o July, madadagdagan pa ang bigas ninyo. Thanks to you [Ambassador Chow] for giving us rice. We are happy that you’re here,” the governor said.
The ambassador said that the Taiwanese government is aware of the recent disasters the province faced, prompting them to donate 1,000 tons of rice to the Philippines, 400 tons of which were given to Isabela.

“Taiwan and the Philippines are the closest neighbors and we are also best partners. Our people are brothers and sisters. Whoever is in need, the other side will help. We know that you have experienced disasters, so our government recently donated 1,000 tons of rice to the government of the Philippines, and we are going to send another 1,000 tons later,” he said.
The delegation from the TECO, headed by Chow, visited the province to explore collaboration in agriculture, trade, investment, and tourism.
