The Office of the Provincial Agricultural Services (OPAS) conducted the distribution of Rice Assistance and Agricultural Materials led by OIC Assistant Agriculturist Gina Suasba together with Municipal Mayor Benjamin Ver and Vice Mayor Oscar Amigo with the Municipal Agriculture Officers and staff at the Municipal Gymnasium in Jipapad, Eastern Samar recently.
OPAS OIC Assistant Gina Suasba and Ver oversaw the distribution of rice assistance to 150 beneficiaries in Jipapad, each of whom received 10 kilos of well-milled rice.
Meanwhile, 44 beneficiaries of the SAAD-Enhanced Vegetable Gardening Project received a comprehensive package, including a plastic drum with a 200-liter capacity, a plastic jug with a 20-liter capacity, a set of farm tools (rake, dull bolo, plastic sprinklers, pick mattock with wooden handle), a plastic crate, and 25 kg each of complete and urea fertilizer, as well as one bag of organic fertilizer.
Moreover, the turnover of Agricultural Materials for the participants of the Enhanced Vegetables Gardening Project aims to empower local communities by equipping them with the necessary resources and knowledge to engage in sustainable agriculture.
With the provision of agricultural materials, it aims to foster self-sufficiency and promote food security among its residents.
