A total of 36 medals were brought home by young Bulakenyo athletes who competed in Batang Pinoy 2023 held in some areas in Tagaytay and Manila recently.
The Bulacan team won 1 Gold for Arnis; 2 Bronze for Athletics; 1 Bronze for Archery; 2 Gold, 4 Silver, 4 Bronze for Chess; 3 Gold, 1 Silver for Gymnastics; 7 Gold, 5 Silver for Swimming; 1 Silver for Taekwondo; 1 Silver, 3 Bronze for Weightlifting; and 1 Silver for Wrestling.
Governor Daniel Fernando congratulated the winners during the Flag Ceremony held at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium in the City of Malolos and lauded their efforts in representing the province with flying colors in the said sports competition.
“Binabati ko ang ating mga batang atleta na lumahok at nag-uwi ng medalya sa katatapos lang na batang Pinoy 2023.”
“Binabati ko ang ating mga batang atleta na lumahok at nag-uwi ng medalya sa katatapos lang na batang Pinoy 2023. Malaking tagumpay ang inyong naiuwi hindi lamang para sa inyong sarili ngunit maging para sa ating lalawigan,” Fernando said.
“Mabuhay kayo at nawa ay marami pang Kabataang atleta at sumunod sa inyong yapak.”

The Philippine Youth Games or Batang Pinoy serves as the national sports competition in the Philippines which is specifically designed for individuals under the age of 15.
Batang Pinoy extends its participation to out-of-school youth as well.
