Anakalusugan Party-list Rep. Ray T. Reyes underscored the importance of having child-specific programs to give a better future to the next generation.
“Supporting the children is tantamount to ensuring the future of this country. It is of prime importance that the children should not be left behind,” Reyes said.
Reyes also pushed for more collaborative initiatives between the government and the private sector.
If we do not act now, it will adversely impact the productivity of our country 20 years from now,” he added.
Speaking before participants in the Alay Lakad para sa Kabataan held in Batangas city, Reyes also pushed for more collaborative initiatives between the government and the private sector.
“Aside from ensuring the delivery of quality health care services, Anakalusugan Partylist also encourages public-private partnerships and initiatives on nutrition, healthy eating habits and programs addressing child stunting and wasting,” Reyes explained.
The program was part of a string of events celebrating Children’s Month and was attended by over 3,000 participants, officials and corporate backers of Batangas Alay Lakad Foundation.
The Batangas Alay Lakad Foundation was created to support initiatives that include scholarships, livelihood programs, vocational skills training, leadership seminars as well as other community-based initiatives geared toward the development of the youth as well-rounded and productive individuals.
