DPWH FINISHES ROAD SLOPE PROJECT IN ISABELA TOWN

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed its P82-million rehabilitation of damaged slopes along a portion of Dinapigue Road in Barangay Dibulo, Dinapigue, Isabela.

In his report to DPWH Regional Director 2 Reynaldo Alconcel, DPWH Isabela 4th District Engineer Evelyn Costales said that the newly-completed slope protection was implemented along the 433-meter segment of the road, which has always been a landslide-prone area.

“This project will not only ensure safe access but also prolong the service life of the road,” Costales explained.

Meanwhile, the DPWH Isabela 4th DEO has also commenced the widening of the Garit Bridge along Junction Ipil-Quirino Boundary Road in Barangay Garit Norte, in the town of Echague, Isabela.

“The ongoing contract is currently 78.5% complete.”

Costales said that Phase 1 of the bridge widening project has received an allocation of P41.79 this year and commenced civil works last February. The ongoing contract is currently 78.5 percent complete.

When completed, the widening from two to four lanes of the Garit Bridge would improve mobility for the residents and neighboring barangays in the agricultural municipality.
