Mayor Eric Olivarez will lead the opening ceremony.
“Padyak Parañaque sa Kalusugan is one of the activities prepared by the city government in celebration of the 25th Cityhood Anniversary on February 13,” Olivarez said.

The mayor and the Nayong Pilipino Foundation earlier launched a similar cycling event known as Nayong Pilipino Bike and Nature Park Trail in December 2022 to boost ecotourism in the city.
According to Dr. Phoebe Katez Campasas of the Health Education and Promotion Unit, around 1,000 bicycle enthusiasts are expected to converge as early as 4:00 AM to take part in the family cycling event which is hosted by the City Health Office as part of the Paranaque 25th Cityhood Anniversary celebrations.
Campasas said cycling has become a crucial health initiative to promote physical activity.
“Cycling is one of the healthiest forms of exercise as it protects riders from serious health issues such as stroke, heart attack, obesity and diabetes, among others.”
She added that cycling is one of the healthiest forms of exercise as it protects riders from serious health issues such as stroke, heart attack, obesity and diabetes, among others.
Campasas also said that despite Paranaque’s advancement as a city, mobility became a problem due to traffic, noise and air pollution, and other environmental problems.
She said that by encouraging cycling as an alternative mode of transportation, the city would be safer and a better place to live.
The city has been promoting bicycle use as an alternative mode of transportation in response to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak in the early part of 2020.
It said fewer people use public transit during that time to avoid contracting the illness.
