The completion of a convergence road project by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) facilitates smoother travel experience for residents and traders traveling to coconut processing centers in Batan, Aklan.
In her submitted report to Secretary Manuel Bonoan and Undersecretary Roberto Bernardo, in charge of Mega Manila and Visayas Operations, DPWH Regional Office 6 Director Nerie Bueno said that the new road measures 2.4 kilometers with concrete drainage that stretches to Poblacion Batan-Mandong-Napti-Camanci-Sapian.
“The newly-paved road seeks to promote the province’s local economy and encourage more profitable prospects for strengthening the province’s coconut industry,” Bueno said.
“With the completion of the road project, local communities in Batan no longer have to travel on muddy roads, allowing them to conveniently deliver coconut products to commercial centers.”
