Residents of Barangay Lower Bicutan and nearby villages in Taguig City expressed their gratitude to the local government unit for giving them a super or fully equipped health center that could assist them in medical emergencies.
The new Taguig Health Center will give Barangay Lower Bicutan and residents of nearby barangays easier access to Taguig’s health-centric initiatives and programs more conveniently.
Resident Vince Michael Baluyot, 39, a father of two and a BPO employee, said the activation of the super health center is a blessing to his family.
“Hindi na ako mag-aalaala kahit biglang magkasakit ang mga anak ko. May lugar na kaming pwedeng puntahan para patingnan sila,” Baluyot said.
“The super health center also provides poor residents quality health care without cost.”

Liziel De Guzman, 31, a resident of nearby Barangay Katuparan, said the super health center in Barangay Lower Bicutan is very timely for her as she is now four months pregnant.
“Pwede na kong magpa-check-up lagi para malaman ko ang status ng aking baby. Hindi ko na kailangan magbiyahe ng saksakan ng layo para magpatingin sa doctor,” de Guzman said.
Taguig Mayor Lino Cayetano explained the new health center has dedicated rooms designed for various medical services such as consultation, treatment, prenatal, family planning, and breastfeeding, among others.
“A doctor-on-call will also operate 24/7 to assist residents with health-related concerns and inquiries at any given time of the day.”

Meanwhile, Jenson Garcia, 35, a kagawad of Barangay Wawa, said the super health center is a big help to neighboring communities as it dispenses anti-rabies injections or shots for people bitten by stray dogs or other animals.
His sentiments were echoed by 62-year-old Marilou Concepcion, a nurse in nearby Barangay Wawa Health Center.
“Yung Lower Bicutan Health Center nag-cater sila ng anti-rabies injection (sa mga) nakagat ng aso or any animal so yun yung referral facility namin. Malaking advantage (ito), di na lalayo (ang) pasyente, at for free lahat ng services, malaking tulong din sa Covid-19 response katulad din dito sa (Barangay),” Concepcion added.
Aside from the ongoing COVID-19 curbing initiatives, the Taguig City Government continues to strive for quality and accessible health services which include TB-Dots, free house-to-house delivery of medicines by Barangay Health Workers (BHWs), and many more.
Taguig gears its focus toward addressing other health-related concerns by also opening its fourth super health center in Barangay Ligid-Tipas that has a laboratory to assess tests, birthing, consultation, and examination rooms, among others.
Two more health centers are soon to open in Barangay Central Signal and Barangay Ibayo-Tipas with TB-DOTS area, sputum collection area, dental clinic, consultation, animal bite, pre-natal, and family rooms.
“Taguig is active in providing Taguigeños the health services they deserve and continues to expand its programs for everyone, especially amid the COVID-19 pandemic,” Cayetano said.
Just recently, the local government wrapped up its Taguig Healthcon 2022 which was a week-long event that served as a one-stop-shop event for all health services being provided in Taguig.
Taguig City continues to prioritize the implementation of programs that improve the health and well-being of Taguigeños.
