It’s really Christmas in 12 days! So we’ve prepared a little list of Christmas trivia for you!

ORIGINS OF THE TWELVE DAYS OF CHRISTMAS

On the 12th day of Christmas, my true love gave to me… You can’t do a 12 trivia list without this classic Christmas carol. It’s said to be a song that was designed as a memory game where participants will need to test their mastery of the lyrics. It might feel moot at this point because of how often we hear the song but if the game involved an element of speed, the song can be really confusing.

The Grinch, the animated version released in 2018, has a gross earnings of $511,595,957. The story of the Grinch, adapted from a Dr. Seuss book, is also a classic. It’s a story about kindness, forgiveness, friendship and acceptance; a message that really encapsulates the spirit of Christmas. The original movie, which was released in 2000, also took in profit ranking 3rd with $345,141,403.

MOST STREAMED CHRISTMAS SONG

It’s not Christmas without Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas Is You. Website verifythis.com has confirmed that this song is the most-streamed holiday music on top music applications including Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and more. This is no surprise as even this new rendition, the “Make My Wish Come True Edition” released in 2019, received 221,139,266 views on YouTube to date, and the original rendition garnering over 700 million views.

MOST EXPENSIVE CHRISTMAS BOOK

A good copy of Charles Dickens’ book, A Christmas Carol, can be priced up to $28,000. This book released in 1843 is a fancy, hand-colored book that also made the item fragile. There were only 6000 copies sold in the first year, and since preserving this took intentional care and effort, having the book’s original copy in mint condition is very rare — which explains the hefty price tag. In the years following its release, it has sold over two million copies.

That’s it for now, stay tuned for the next part!
