FREE RENT FOR VAXXED SAN CARLOS MARKET VENDORS

The City of San Carlos in Negros Occidental has granted payment incentives to vendors at its main public market who are fully vaccinated against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

In Executive Order (EO) 248, Mayor Renato Gustilo acknowledged that market vendors were among those greatly affected by the declaration of the state of general community quarantine in the city.

“It is just but proper that they be given incentives for following the city government’s proactive measures to ensure the safety of its people during the COVID-19 pandemic,” Gustilo said.

The mayor waived the payment of rental fees for blocks/stalls and spaces of fully-vaccinated vendors at the Jose V. Valmayor Jr. Public Market for the month of December.

He also imposed a one-month deduction in the computation of the vendors’ calendar year 2021 annual income upon renewal of their business permit.
