A new barracks for the 20th Marine Company, Marine Battalion Landing Team 10 of the Philippine Marines is being fast-tracked for completion by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in Sta. Praxedes, Province of Cagayan.
Citing a report from DPWH Cagayan Second District Engineering Office, Acting Secretary Roger Mercado said that a two-story building is being constructed to serve as an operational and lodging facility for the Marines in Cagayan.
The barracks will have 20 rooms with separate comfort rooms.
Targeted for completion by June 2022, the 234-square meter barracks will have 20 rooms with separate comfort rooms for the Marines serving in Sta. Praxedes.
The P9.5-million project was prioritized under the DPWH- Department of National Defense (DND) Convergence Program on Strengthening and Expanding Military Readiness for National Security and Development which aims to improve military facilities and detachments for improved personnel capacity.
