Camarines Sur Rep. LRay Favis Villafuerte has filed his certificate of candidacy for congressman representing the second district of Bicol’s economic powerhouse.
The former deputy speaker, who was three-term governor of the province before his election to the House of Representatives, is seeking his third term as legislator.
The representative’s son, Miguel Luis “Migz” Reyes Villafuerte, who has the distinction of being the country’s youngest governor–having been first elected in 2013 at the age of 24–has also filed his certificate of candidacy, this time for representative of the province’s fifth congressional district.
He has authored or co-authored 1,216 measures of which 125 become laws in his first two terms that have been signed into law, including the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act (Bayanihan 1) and Bayanihan to Recover as One Act (Bayanihan 2) that have enabled the Duterte administration to beef up its COVID-19 response and provide assistance to Filipino families, workers, businesses and other sectors hardest hit by the lingering pandemic.
