It’s another anime season again! In this article, we’re focusing on Isekai Animes. Isekai is a genre where the story usually revolves around a person or group of individuals who are summoned or reincarnated into a fantasy or virtual world, or even a parallel universe of their existing world. The main characters’ principal goal is to survive within the new world.
To get you started, these are some of the upcoming isekai animes this Fall Season!
The Faraway Paladin
The Faraway Paladin is a series written by Kanata Yanagino. The story is about a boy who was reincarnated into a place called the city of the dead. In this city, three undead individuals took over looking after him. After they passed on, the boy decided his goals would be to discover why he was sent to that world and why he was abandoned in that city. It was also during this time that he decided to know more about the lives of the individuals who raised him.
Unlike other isekai stories, we don’t really see him actively remembering his past life. The story doesn’t show how much he remembers if any at all. We’re only shown that he had awareness as a baby due to his past memories. His god also doesn’t communicate directly and doesn’t give him direction. This is unlike other adventure isekai stories where the god is also some sort of mentor.
This is animated by the Children’s Playground Entertainment and is scaled to be released in October 2021.
The World’s Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in Another World as an Aristocrat
This anime is animated by SILVER LINK and Studio Palette. It was supposed to be released this month but was pushed back to October 2021. This anime is an adaptation of a novel of the same name written by Rui Tsukiyo.
This story is about Lugh Tuatha Dé who used to be the greatest assassin on Earth. After being disposed of by his comrades, a goddess summoned him to be a hero in her world. The world, as with usual isekais, is a fantasy world with a medieval way of living. The culture of swordsmanship is still alive, and usually magic and magical creatures exist.
We follow Lugh who knew only how to live as a tool for his employers in his previous life. The goddess of this world gave him a chance to experience life in a different way. But the catch is that he has to eliminate a powerful hero.
Gyakuten Sekai no Denchi Shojo: Rumble Garanndoll
Gyakuten Sekai no Denchi Shojo: Rumble Garanndoll is an original anime written by Makoto Uezy. It is also directed by Masaomi Andō, and animated by Lerche. This anime is about a group of individuals after an alternate Japan called Shinkoku Nippon invades their current Japan. Shinkoku Nippon still has a militaristic lifestyle and also brought humanoid weapons to Japan. These humanoid weapons can withstand any attack of Japan’s modern weapons.
Due to Japan being taken, there is strict censorship that affected the entertainment industry – especially the culture of manga, anime, and idols. Based on reports, it seems the anime will follow three girls that may be trying to succeed in that industry.
Not a lot of information is known since there are no materials released yet. This is unlike other isekai anime where they were previously adapted from existing novels or manga. We can expect more information in the following months leading up to its release in October 2021.
