DUMAGUETE CITY GETS REEFER VAN FOR VAX FROM DOTR

Dumaguete City has received a 20-footer reefer container van that can store thousands of doses of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccines as Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo ordered fast-tracking of the inoculation process amid a surge in cases.

The delivery of the refrigerated container van was done through the assistance of Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade under the government’s Palamigan ng Bayan 011 program.

The reefer is now installed at the City Health Office (CHO).

Remollo said he will secure more vaccines from the national government and private organizations to be given directly to the city government to inoculate as many residents as possible according to the Department of Health’s order of priority.

Dumaguete earlier received 10,000 doses of Sinovac from the national government.

The city earlier received 10,000 doses of Sinovac from the national government through Senator Bong Go and vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez, Jr.

Meanwhile, Dumaguete City has started vaccinating persons with comorbidities under the A3 priority group but only those registered will be accommodated and no walk-ins are allowed.

Vaccination also continues for senior citizens at three different sites in the city.

Those belonging to A3 are asked to register online or fill out forms endorsed to the barangay health workers for inclusion in the vaccination’s master list.

Residents are advised to wait for a call from the CHO for their assigned schedule and vaccination site.

The city is appealing to the people to abide by such guidelines to avoid unnecessary crowding or confusion at the vaccination sites.
