National Electrification Administration (NEA) chief Edgardo Masongsong on Thursday (May 13) refuted the allegations leveled by the Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) as “baseless and malicious.”
Masongsong has assured that contrary to the statement made by PACC Chairman Greco Belgica, no public funds were used to finance the campaign of the PHILRECA party-list during the 2019 elections, adding that this matter can easily be verified from the records of the NEA.
“My alleged condoning of the use of public funds to fund the political campaign of PHILRECA Party-list is baseless, malicious and a reckless presumption considering that no public funds were ever manipulated for the said purpose,”

Masongsong also advised the PACC chairman to be circumspect in his actions and statements and focus more in finding the misuse of public funds, and “refrain from being used by other sectors in their political tirades.”
As of this writing, Administrator Masongsong is yet to receive a copy of the complaint.
