Acting, dancing, and singing. That exhilarating feeling when the show reaches its closing scene. These are the things theater enthusiasts long to experience again.
Although canceled shows and live-streamed plays are scenarios theater faces today, most theater organizations must adjust and innovate in this time of the pandemic since mass gatherings are forbidden.

In a much personal aspect, artists find it hard to look for means and reasons to create productions – to create art. Being in a race that one cannot distinguish where the starting line leaves them hesitant and afraid. How can shows go on? Where should one look for inspiration to persist? Lingering questions that cannot be answered concretely.
MEDIARTRIX – UST, a multimedia organization of and for art enthusiasts is breaking new ground with its 1st Virtual Production, “Homo Homo sapiens.” With their vision to fortify the Thomasian competence in the arts, their mission to nurture talents and skills persevere virtually despite the hindrance posed by COVID-19. This, of course, paves the way for certain limitations in their process of creating the production.
As theaters and entertainment venues remain closed, the feeling of standing on stage, the excitement and thrill of the live performance – its utmost essence is prohibited. In the aspect of technicality, several modifications must also be done. Instead of building props or a set – editing, sharing, and tweaking of videos are the new standard. The pressure is heavily placed on the shoulders of the production team, specifically the graphic designers and video editors. Yet despite this, what kept them motivated to push through is their support system, the organization. The constant assurance and cooperation of the members became their driving force.
