Two multi-purpose evacuation centers funded by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (Pagcor) at P50 million each will soon rise in Bataan.
Pagcor and local officials carried out the groundbreaking recently in Barangay Gugo in Samal and Barangay Mulawin in Orani.
Governor Albert Garcia thanked Pagcor chair and chief executive officer Andrea Domingo for choosing the two towns as sites of the multi-purpose evacuation centers.
Vice-president for corporate social responsibility James Patrick Bondoc, and community relations and services assistant vice president Ramon Villaflor represented Pagcor in the two ceremonies.
Aside from Garcia, other Bataan officials present during the groundbreaking included First District Rep. Geraldine Roman and Mayors Efren Pascual, Jr. of Orani, and Aida Macalinao of Samal.
“Pagcor now funds projects that will help our constituents in times of calamities.”
“We in Bataan are happy that despite the pandemic we face, Pagcor continues to pour in financial support to the needy in the province and now funds projects that will help our constituents in times of calamities,” the governor said.
Macalinao said the evacuation center was part of their desire to protect and take care of the people of Samal, especially during calamities and tragedies.
“Having a modern facility is a big push for us to continue the service deserved by people.”
“Ang pagkakaroon ng isang moderno, maayos at maipagmamalaking pasilidad ay makakatulong upang kami ay patuloy na makapagkaloob ng isang serbisyo publiko na ‘deserve’ ng aming mga kababayan (Having a facility which is modern, comfortable and to be proud of is a big push for us to continue the service deserved by people)”, the Samal mayor said.
