DELIVER-E FORMS KEY PART OF ANTI-HUNGER CAMPAIGN

“Anything and everything that can be shared by our stakeholders is useful in achieving the objectives of our National Food Policy. We see the Deliver-e platform as a crucial contribution that will shape the results of the program.”

Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles made the statement during the Deliver-e Goes Live event on Monday, December 14, 2020 which he attended together with Trade Secretary Ramon Lopez and Agriculture Secretary William Dar.

The new Deliver-e initiative aims to establish direct links between consumers and farm workers without passing through the middlemen.

Various government and private sector stakeholders participated in the virtual event, together with the United States Agency for International Development, Food Terminals Incorporated, Supply Chain Management Association of the Philippines, Agri Coop PH and the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The MalacaƱang official noted that like the government’s Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP) program, the new Deliver-e initiative aims to establish direct links between consumers and farm workers without passing through the middlemen.

“This ensures a faster, steadier supply of produce while ensuring regular market access to our farmers, thus providing a reliable source of income which is direly needed during this COVID-19 pandemic,” Nograles stressed.

The Deliver-e program provides a digital platform that connects members of the agriculture sector to consumers from the general public.

“This ensures a faster, steadier supply of produce while ensuring regular market access to our farmers, thus providing a reliable source of income which is direly needed during this COVID-19 pandemic.”

The Task Force Hunger head further emphasized that “It is an innovative end-to-end electronic market system that fills in the supply gap. We need this kind of imaginative, practical and doable solution to the challenges posed by the twin effects of the pandemic and recent natural calamities.”

“We would be able to support and achieve the Key Result Areas of our National Food Policy with a successful implementation of Deliver-e. With the close cooperation of our partners and stakeholders, we expect Deliver-e to be one of the main tools in combating hunger and lack of proper nutrition in Filipino families. Both the Duterte administration and our private sector partners will ensure its success.”
