The provincial government of Bulacan will send cash aid to the Bicol region, particularly to the provinces of Albay and Catanduanes, which were ravaged by Super Typhoon Rolly.
Governor Daniel Fernando said they would donate P500,000 each to the two provinces to help families badly affected by the weather disturbance.
“We will donate P500,000 each to the two provinces to help families badly affected by the weather disturbance.”
Fernando said he has instructed concerned provincial department offices to process the cash donation while the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) has begun coordinating with the provincial governments of Albay and Catanduanes.
“The donation is a payback for the assistance Bulacan received during past calamities.”
The governor stressed the donation is a “payback” for the assistance the province received during past calamities.
He said they decided to share some cash assistance as the province was blessed when Central Luzon was spared from the onslaught of “Rolly”.
“What is P1 million? We will send help as one way of expressing our gratitude for being spared from the super typhoon,” Fernando said.
Despite its minimal impact on Bulacan, “Rolly” caused floods in the towns of Calumpit and San Miguel.
The provincial government, through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, distributed food packs to some 11,387 affected families in the two towns.
