The Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Inc. (FFCCCII), in coordination with the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), donated sacks of rice, hygiene kits and reams of bond paper, to the Municipality of Pateros to help its residents who were affected by the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
MMDA Chairman Danilo Lim and officials of the FCCCII turned over to Pateros Mayor Miguel “Ike” Ponce 110 sacks of rice, 1,000 hygiene kits, and 50 reams of bond paper to be used for the printing of students’ modules during the turn-over ceremonies held at the Pateros Municipal Hall recently.
FCCCII Vice President Dr. Cecilio Pedro said Lim sought their support to help the communities of Pateros, the lone municipality in Metro Manila.
“Among the 17 local governments in the National Capital Region, Pateros is the LGU which needs the most support because it has limited resources and being the only municipality and the smallest in Metro Manila,” according to the traffic chief.
Lim, who was tasked to oversee COVID-19 response and provide stronger support to Pateros, thanked the FCCCII for their much-needed donation.
“The donation is intended for households under community quarantine.”
“I am thankful for the support of the FCCCII to Pateros in these challenging times. The donation is intended for households under community quarantine,” he said.
For his part, Ponce expressed his gratitude to the FCCCII for the donation that was sent through Lim’s assistance.
