Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark Villar has announced the full opening of the reconstructed Sevilla Bridge.
The Sevilla Bridge is a 4-lane bridge crossing the San Juan River connecting Shaw Boulevard in Burol, Mandaluyong City and P. Sanchez Street in Sta. Mesa, Manila

“Now that the new Sevilla Bridge is open to the traveling public, it should help decongest traffic in Metro Manila and benefit the daily motorists,” Villar said.
Sevilla Bridge was initially opened to motorists in June 26, 2020 for the lanes going to Shaw Boulevard while its opposite lanes were completed a week after.
The bridge reconstruction project which is a partnership with San Miguel Corp. (SMC), involves a 56.76-linear meter single span with a total width of 19.40 meters composed of a 7.65-meter carriageway and 1.5-meter sidewalk (northbound and southbound), and 1.1-meter center island.
“It should help decongest traffic in Metro Manila and benefit the daily motorists.”
Following its closure in March, the bridge was reconstructed to allow and give way for construction works of the Metro Manila Skyway Stage 3 project.
“The reconstruction of Sevilla Bridge also helps in ensuring the smooth flow of water in the San Juan River where it stands, resulting to flood mitigation in the area especially during rainy season,” the public works chief added.
