Senatorial candidate Bong Go has vowed to continue implementing change in the country’s leadership and society which was started by President Rodrigo Duterte as he wooed the female voters of Orani, Bataan.
Bataan 1st District Rep. Geraldine Roman and her mother, former congresswoman Hermina Roman, led women at the Orani Sports Center in welcoming Go, who graced the 22nd anniversary celebration of “Kabaka”, the biggest women’s organization in the province.
Hermina formed the Kababaihan Tungo sa Kaunlaran or Kabaka 22 years ago, comprising women from the first district of the province that includes the towns of Dinalupihan, Hermosa, Orani, Samal, Abucay and Morong.
Kabaka now has more than 35,000 members.
“Kung masaya kayo sa ginawa ni Pangulong Duterte, ipagpapatuloy ko pagbabagong inumpisahan niya. Galit siya sa criminal, corruption at droga, galit din ako (If you are happy about what President Duterte has accomplished, I will continue the change he started. He despises criminals, corruption and drugs, and so do I),” said the former Special Assistant to the President (SAP).
“He despises criminals, corruption and drugs, and so do I.”
The former Palace official said he will continue setting up Malasakit Centers to look after the health needs of Filipinos, especially the poor. There are now 24 Malasakit Centers in different parts of the country.
“Ang mga senior citizens hindi na kailangang pumila sa mga Malasakit Center at basta Pilipino, qualified na, hindi na kailangang hanapan pa ng kung anu-anong ID. Ang pera nito ay galing sa inyo at ibinabalik lang sa inyo (Senior citizens need not line up at Malasakit Centers and being a Filipino is enough qualification, no more need to require various IDs. The fund for this came from you and will be given back to you),” he said.
Go said he will also attend to agriculture and other needs of farmers as well as address the lack of fish supply in the country.
If elected to the Senate, he said he will likewise push for the creation of a Senior Citizen’s Commission to exclusively look after the needs of the elderly.
“The fund for this came from you and will be given back to you.”
Go added that he also wants a Department of Overseas Filipino Workers where all agencies connected with OFWs will be placed under one agency.
Moreover, Go is amenable to establishing a Commission for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender community as envisioned by Rep. Roman.
