2018 is here and it’s never too early to be hyped up about films you want to watch! With different franchises releasing yearly blockbusters to satisfy the respective cravings of their fanbases, movie junkies have a lot to be her about! Here’s our list of 5 Films to be Excited About in 2018.
5 Ready Player One (March 2018)
Based on the novel that’s also titled Ready Player One, the film centers on a young outcast who escapes from his daily problems by playing a Massively Multiplayer Online (MMO) game. When the billionaire founder of the MMO dies, it is announced that he has hidden an object in the game and whoever finds the object will be rewarded with a trillion dollars, and control of the game. The main character of the film then ventures to win the prize and is faced with obstacles inside and outside the video game. With the legendary Steven Spielberg directing this film, a lot of science fiction aficionados are hyped up for its release.
4 Aquaman (December 2018)
Rumored to be released in December 2018, Aquaman is the next much-awaited film for hardcore DC fans and casual fans alike. Just when the fans thought that DC already had it in them when Wonder Woman was released, disaster struck again with how Justice League fared. Fans are now anxious for the next movie that will finally redeem the honor of the DC Universe. Everyone’s hoping that Jason Momoa’s charm in Aquaman will be the franchise’s saving grace.
3 Avengers: Infinity War (May 2018)
After breaking the record for the most viewed movie trailer of all time in youtube in a span of days after its release, there is no doubt that fans are hyped up about the release of Avengers: Infinity Wars. You can’t blame them though. Who wouldn’t be hyped up with the number of superheroes that are set to be in the film?! The flick is centered around defeating Thanos who is out to collect all of the six Infinity Stones and subject all of reality under his will. The fate of the whole universe has never been under this level of uncertainty and it’s up to the upsized superhero gang to find a way to save us all.
2 Untitled Deadpool Sequel (June 2018)
A new Deadpool movie is set to be released in 2018. Despite changing studios mid-production when Disney successfully acquired 21st Century Fox, people are still very much excited about this movie. With Ryan Reynolds upping his social media game to promote the movie, Disney doesn’t even need to crack its head thinking about ideas on how to promote the sequel. The sequel is still yet to be named and is just referred to as the untitled Deadpool Sequel but fans are surely very excited to see their favorite 4th wall breaking superhero in the big screen again.
1 The Incredibles 2 (June 2018)
After 14 years of waiting, fans are finally going to be given what they have long been asking for: a sequel to everyone’s favorite childhood movie, The Incredibles. With the first movie giving a new life to superhero movies by focusing on the everyday struggles of the individuals themselves and not just on their heroic deeds, fans are excited to find out what Disney has in store for its fans in this sequel.
