The list of military appointees awaiting CA confirmation also includes 202 new colonels and 45 new naval captains, according to the seasoned lawmaker.

“The public is encouraged to submit any information, written reports, or sworn/notarized complaints or oppositions against any of the appointees to the CA Secretariat,” Pimentel said.

Last year, the CA rejected the promotion of a Philippine Army colonel to the rank of brigadier general after his estranged wife filed a challenge based on allegations of physical abuse, adultery, and neglect of financial support for their children.

The Constitution empowers the 25-member CA to evaluate the competence, qualifications, and integrity of key presidential appointees, including all military officers ranked colonel or naval captain and higher, and to approve or reject their appointments.

The CA consists of 12 members each from the House of Representatives and the Senate, with the Senate President serving as the ex officio presiding officer.
